We are excited to say that we have a great opportunity
coming soon that will help Brownie through Ambassador girls earn
parts of the citizen badge. Please take a second to look at the attached
flyer regarding the council program “Our Journey to the Ballot Box.”
The 19th Amendment, which granted women the right
to vote, will be on display at the Clinton Presidential Library for only a few
days in October. With this being an election year, and the 100th
year of Girl Scouting, what better time to educate yourselves, your girls and
your communities about the importance of voting, and the struggle that many
women went through to make the right for women to vote a reality?
An additional exciting part of this announcement is that we
have an opportunity for Cadettes and up to help plan and carryout this girl-led
event in conjunction with the Clinton Presidential Library and council staff.
Save the Date:
- October 20th, 10am-2pm, Clinton Presidential
Library, Little Rock, AR is the date of the actual program “Our Journey to the
Ballot Box” that is open to Brownies-Ambassadors. Please note that this
is the same date as the Race for the Cure, but the race participants will be
finished before the start time of the program, so please consider doing both if
you already had the race on your calendar to do with family or your troops.
Register by October 10, 2012!
