Fall Programs

Nature Nights

September 24, October 8, October 22 and October 29

Join us at the nature center for Nature Nights this fall. We’ll get to spend some time getting up close with a few of the critters who call Arkansas home, work on legacy naturalist badges, and explore the It’s Your Planet –Love It! Girl Scout Journey. You’ll also discover ways you can Take Action and make your world a better place.

Nature Nights

October 1, October 15 and October 29

Discover how nature has helped us engineer everything from clothes and camping gear to helicopters and 360 degree lenses. Learn about careers in conservation and discover ways you can Take Action and make your world a better place. Don’t worry; you’ll still have plenty of time for some good old fashioned critter fun as well.

Passport to the Past:

October 25

Grab your passport as we journey through layers of time to discover what life was like thousands and even millions of years ago.  Unearth the mysteries of the past and discover the stories fossils leave behind. Explore the science behind fossilization and find out why fossils matter to us today.  Staff from the Arkansas Geological Society will be our guide the layers of rock beneath our feet.

Older girls will dive into what fossils tell us about climate science and how we can make our world a better place. You’ll also have the chance to talk to an Arkansas State Geologist about careers in the field of Geology and Paleontology.

Nocturnal Nature:

November 7- November 9

Take a walk on the wild side –after dark! You’ll sleep in and stay up late just like many of the animals who call Arkansas home.  Come discover the sounds of the forest at night, learn how to identify animals looking only at their eyes, and go on a night hike. If we’re lucky, we’ll get to see some of these critters up close.
