Archery

Completion of this training certifies you as a USA Archery Association Level 1 Basics Instructor, which is valid for three years. Learn archery safety, skills, and teaching techniques as you prepare to lead archery programs for girls and adults. Training includes skill development, classroom instruction, and assessment (written test and teaching demonstration). This class satisfies the Safety Activity Checkpoint requirement for leading girls in archery activities.

Required for: Many camp staff and volunteers who are planning on leading girls in archery activities.

Prerequisites: None

Duration: Eight hours

Cost: $45.00, includes the costs of certification and the required textbook and whistle

Materials to Bring:

Water bottle

Sack lunch and snacks

Comfortable clothing (some participants prefer long sleeves)

Sturdy shoes         

Sunscreen         

Bug Spray

Tie back for long hair       

Comfortable chair

When to Complete: Before leading girls in archery activities

How often to Complete: Every three years

Registration

Registration is requested no later than 5 days in advance of a class to ensure that we are adequately prepared for your arrival. Please refrain from "dropping in." Without adequate registrations, the course may be cancelled. If the course is cancelled or rescheduled, only registered students will be notified. We strive to make registration as easy as possible. First, you must find a course and register online through E-Biz, or send in a paper registration form. The paper form can be sent to us at:

Once your registration is received, you will receive confirmation of enrollment along with any other information you need to know about the course.

Cancellation

If you are unable to attend a class for any reason, please notify us in advance. To cancel your registration, please call GSDAOT's Registrar at 1-800-632-6894. Cancellations must be made seven (7) days prior to the beginning session date to receive a refund.

If a learning session is cancelled, we will notify you as soon as possible using the contact information you provided on your registration form. An alternate date may be offered or the total fee will be refunded.

Babysitting

Babysitting is not provided at training sessions; please make arrangements for child care while you are attending.
